Walis Labai alludes to unique "Tree-born" life experience of the Sediq culture in this series of works concerning the Sediq myth of "Tree-born People", and the works also convey a loving heart that is pure, innocent, and close to nature, and is missing from modern society. The images in my works gaze sternly at viewers, and wordlessly thunder that "Indigenous people exist in Taiwannese society", so that viewers can no longer turn a blind eye to the existence of them. Indigenous people lived throughtout the land and mountain forests of Taiwan since long before the arrival of the Chinese. Walis uses objective material evidence to clarify the two cultural systems - Han Chinese and Sediq - that flow through my veins.
